Our Team is Growing!
In September 2016, the Women's Center received a federal grant from the Office on Violence Against Women to provide culturally responsive violence prevention education programs and victim advocacy for underserved student populations. This grant funding is allowing us to hire an additional staff member, but we currently lack enough offices to provide a private and confidential space for each member of our staff.
Help Us Expand Our Services
Following our designation in 2015 as a confidential reporting location (one of only 3 on campus), the Women's Center has seen a marked increase in the number of students seeking a safe space to disclose details of traumatic experiences. Creating an additional office will allow all four professional staff members at the Women's Center to have access to a private space at all times during the work day, and therefore increase our ability to respond appropriately to the needs of students in distress.
