Zimoun in Moscow
The Swiss artist Zimoun creates site-specific sound installations. Using simple, commonplace industrial objects and functional components, Zimoun builds architecturally minded platforms of sound. The acoustic hum of natural phenomena in Zimoun's minimalist constructions effortlessly reverberates emotional depth.
The Prichard Art Gallery will join an internationally significant group of venues that includes the Museum of Contemporary Art MAC Santiago de Chile; Museum of Contemporary Art Busan, South Korea; and NYU Dubai.
Opening summer of 2019, with Moscow Artwalk and extending into Fall semester 2019.
The Prichard has a reputation as the premier venue for cutting-edge contemporary art and continues to present the most challenging content in the region. Expansive programming will keep Moscow, the Prichard and U of I as the place to see contemporary art.
Contribute to make the Zimoun Project possible. Funds support the creation of the artwork, along with travel and supplies to make his exhibit possible. It will require a budget roughly equivalent to one year’s total programming budget or twice what we spend on our typical high-end exhibition project.
