Founded in 1972, the University of Idaho's Women's Center continues to advance our mission of creating a safe and inclusive space for all individuals. We support gender parity and social, political, and economic equity for everyone, regardless of identity or background. Advocacy and action for members of underrepresented groups is as critically needed as ever, and the Women's Center is a great resource for students to learn more about social justice, find a home away from home, access opportunities to serve our campus and community, and enjoy a safe, comfortable place to gather, interact, and study. True to our founding mission, we're continuing to facilitate opportunities for deep learning and engaged activism, in order to support and empower all individuals in building an inclusive and compassionate society.
The Women's Center is a critical resource on campus for students, offering a wide variety of programs and services. In response to student feedback, we've recently started renovating our former library to create a new study space that everyone can use. Our students need access to suitable work stations with up-to-date technology, printing capabilities, a place to charge their mobile devices, and furnishings that allow for independent study and the facilitation of group meetings. Our students deserve a modern, comfortable place to fulfill their academic endeavors and pursue personal and professional development goals. We need your help in achieving these goals! Our computers and work stations are outdated and slow, the furniture in the room is uncomfortable and ill-suited to the space, and our printer no longer works. We're relying on your contributions to continue helping us do what we love to do--serve our students and provide them with the tools to be successful.
Join us in our efforts to renovate The Study, and help us continue to be a vital resource for the U of I community. Your donation of any size means the world to us, and allows us to continue to offer quality programming and services to meet the evolving needs of our campus and local community.
We are humbled by and thankful for your support, because we simply couldn’t do this work without you. Thank you!
Our new Study Space supports students’ academic needs. Your donation will provide students with resources for supplemental printing.
Your donation will help provide striking artwork in our new space! We'll be purchasing framed color posters featuring images and inspirational quotes by feminists of all ages and identities.
Students have specifically requested we purchase a large rolling whiteboard with dry erase markers for group meetings in our new space. Your donation will provide us with the funds to purchase a rolling dry erase board for student use.
With your $250 donation, you’ll help us buy updated, durable furniture for our new space, including new study desks and chairs, sturdy and comfortable lounge chairs, mobile device charging stations, and a new printer.
