The UI ASCE Student chapter membership is composed of civil engineering students from the University of Idaho. Our chapter was chartered in 1926 and was one of the earliest ASCE student chapters. Our members participate in many activities including the National Concrete Canoe Competition, surveying, technical paper competitions, local conferences, and much more. ASCE focuses on creating a network between students and professional engineers.
How funding will help:
Funding is a vital part of attending the annual ASCE Regional Conference and it helps provide:
Canoe Materials
A major cost our team encounter is purchasing materials to build the canoe. This includes the aggregates, cement materials, additives, foam board, and mesh.
Regional Conference
This includes the cost of the hotel rooms for three nights near the host school, student and school registration fees, and transportation.
