Moscow self-identifies as the "Heart of the Arts" but this is not always evident on the streets of our town. We are interested in supporting, cultivating and activating art in public spaces to build a more engaged, visual and imaginative community on campus and beyond.
We were awarded a Student Arts-Fee Grant to install two mural designs on the east side walls of the Art and Architecture East building that face downtown and Jackson/I-95. UI Facilities is also making this project possible by covering the costs of cleaning and priming the walls. Now we are asking for your support to help raise the $2,500 we need to finish installing the murals. To help make this happen, the dean has also given us $1,000 to double your gifts for the first $1,000 we raise!
This location is an important (but not yet developed) gateway into the university and a perfect opportunity for us to showcase, strengthen, and blur the lines between campus and community.
We have received 18 submissions from students and alumni and we are asking for your help to make their ideas come to life!
Please give today and follow this campaign for updates. On September 25 we will open polling to the public to select artwork and will be asking for your vote! The finalists will be announced here so stay tuned and please help us hit our goal!
