The University of Idaho used to house the very successful Hemingway Festival annually. Writers featured at the festival included luminaries such as Yaa Gyasi and Ottessa Moshfegh. Due to the loss of funding, the festival ended. Now, the University of Idaho English Department is re-envisioning the festival as a new annual literary festival called The Palouse Literary Festival.
This new festival will be consist of a full schedule of events centered around a slate of featured visiting writers and will take place from October 17-19, 2019. In order to bring back and revitalize this important cultural point of coming-together, we need your help.
Money gathered through this campaign will directly supply the honorariums to bring in fantastic writers. Any additional money will be used to secure writers for next year's festival. Please consider supporting our campaign by donating and by sharing the link with your friends and family.
